Besides having some of the most prestigious waterfront neighborhoods in the valley, the Ocotillo Lakes area of south Chandler ranks high in academic acheivement, and provides many family centered activities, and low crime rates compared to national standards and some of the lowest in Chandler.
Chandler Library and Hamilton Aquatics Center
Sharing the same location as Hamilton High School is the Hamilton Aquatic Center, and the Chandler Library, Hamilton branch. As mentioned in a previous post, the aquatics center received the “Best of South Chandler for Family Fun” award by a local newspaper. The Hamilton branch library is one of four libraries that serve the City of Chandler, and the closest location for residents in the Ocotillo Lakes subdivisions.
Ocotillo Golf Resort
An essential part of the attractiveness of Ocotillo Lakes is one of the Top 50 Golf Resorts as rated by Golf World Magazine 2009. The lush fairways and greens of the Ocotillo Golf Resort add to the scenery created by the area lakes that run throughout the Ocotillo Lakes subdivisions. Ocotillo Golf Resort is a privately owned golf course that is open to the public, but offers Ocotillo residents privileges and benefits not avialable to the public. The 
combination of waterfront and fairways provides unequaled views and landscapes not found in other parts of the valley. The course received the Golf Digest Magazine 2008, 4 1/2 stars “Best Places to Play” award.

The largest employer in Chandler by an overwhelming margin is Intel, which employs over 10,000 people. Other high tech industries such as Avnet, Freescale and Microchip Technology are found in south Chandler.
Chandler Fashion Center
For those who must be within 5 miles of a major shopping mall, then Ocotillo Lakes will not disappoint. Almost directly north is the Chandler Fashion Center which has Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Macy’s, and Sears as it’s anchors.
