Three Lakefront Communities in the Ahwatukee Foothills of Phoenix

Just 5 miles west of the I-10 Interstate is a 6 acre lake set back in the Ahwatukee Foothills and surrounded by three waterfront communities; Toscano Lakeside, San Simeon Condos, and Miralago at the Foothills. These communities are within walking distance of Desert Foothills Park and the Foothills Golf Club, and just over a mile  east of Club West Golf Club.  Less than a mile to the south is Pecos Road which offers great accessibility to the 202 and I-10.  They are found within the highly rated Kyrene Elementary School District and Tempe Union High School District boundaries.

Lakewood Waterfront Homes in Ahwatukee area of Phoenix

Ahwatukee Lakefront Community at Lakewood

The Lakewood waterfront community is at the entrance to the Ahwatukee Foothills of Phoenix.  Ahwatukee has been considered by some as the world’s largest cul-de-sac.  You can enter via Ray, Chandler Blvd., or Pecos and those are also the streets by which you will exit. This highly desireable area and community is only 2 miles  from the I-10 and loop 202 freeway.  Another advantage is Kyrene de los Lagos Elementary is located within this 1 square mile development.

Southeast valley waterfront homes 1st Quarter Report

Now that we’ve finished up with the 1st quarter of 2009, it is a good opportunity to review what transpired during the first 90 days of 2009 for waterfront homes for the southeast valley, including Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Sun Lakes, and the Ahwatukee Foothills.  The data is from the Arizona Regional MLS for waterfront property.  I used waterfront information for the 1st quater 2008 , 4th quarter 2008, and 1st quarter 2009.  I only used sales of single family homes.

Ahwatukee waterfront lake communities and homes

Lakefront property nestled in the Ahwatukee Foothills of Phoenix

Bordered by south mountain park to the north, Ahwatukee was annexed by the city of Phoenix between 1978 and 1987.  However, this unique community prides itself on it’s own identity even though it may have a Phoenix address.  The 35 sq. mile Ahwatukee Foothills community has even had it’s own newspaper, the Ahwatukee News for over 30 years.  Once you drive through, you’ll realize that it is unique and different from any other Phoenix suburb.
